Gałąźnia Mała [ɡaˈwɔ̃ʑɲa ˈmawa] (German Klein Gansen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kołczygłowy, within Bytów County, Pomeranian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-east of Kołczygłowy, 22 km (14 mi) north-west of Bytów, and 87 km (54 mi) west of the regional capital Gdańsk. Before 1945 the area was German.[2] Around the end of World War II the region was occupied in March 1945 by the Soviet Army. After the war had ended, Klein Gansen was put together with entire Farther Pomerania under Polish administration. Thereafter Poles occupied houses and farms, and the population was gradually expelled. The last Germens had to leave the village in October 1948.
The village has a population of 132.
